Job summary

Regions Hospital Laboratory is seeking a part-time Laboratory Service Technician to join our team. The role covers client service, scheduling, and a broad range of lab tests, including phlebotomy and specimen processing.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, dispatching, and ensuring efficient workflows; ECG tracings and staff support are also part of the duties. Education and phlebotomy experience are preferred, with a certificate recommended.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Healthcare experience to include phlebotomy.
  • Completion of a health care program (e.g. CMA, EMT, Paramedic, phlebotomy).
  • Phlebotomy certificate strongly recommended.

Job Description

Regions Hospital Laboratory is currently seeking a professional, quality-focused Laboratory Service Technician to join our team.

The Lab Services Technician will provide a wide range of laboratory services including:

  • Client service and reception desk duties, ordering/ scheduling/ billing functions
  • Laboratory testing.
  • Phlebotomy, dispatching.
  • Specimen processing.
  • Centrifuging, delivery of specimens to appropriate lab/ department.
  • Assuring proper efficiency and workflow management and ECG tracings.

This position will also serve as a resource for questions from hospital and clinic staff regarding specimen handling and processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Health care experience to include phlebotomy.
  • Completion of a health care program (e.g. CMA, EMT, Paramedic, phlebotomy).

Licensure/Registration/Certification: Phlebotomy Certificate strongly recommended.
