Job description

Laboratory Services Technician 1 (Finance)

The role is responsible for supporting the daily operations of Cord Blood Registry (CBR) and California Cryobank (CCB) cryogenic storage facilities. The role primarily focuses on the handling, storage, inventory, and documentation of cord blood and cord tissue specimens. This entry-level role ensures that all biospecimens are maintained under strict temperature-controlled conditions and handled according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and regulatory guidelines. Technicians will assist with receiving, labeling, transferring, and tracking biological samples within liquid nitrogen (LN2) storage systems, as well as performing routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.

The Technician I will work under the supervision of senior team members and contributes to maintaining a compliant, safe, and organized biorepository environment. This role is critical in supporting the long-term viability and traceability of life-saving cellular therapies and requires strong attention to detail, comfort with cold environments, and a commitment to quality and accuracy.

The role is responsible for executing routine biorepository functions to ensure the secure, accurate, and compliant storage of cryogenically preserved biological specimens. This role involves hands-on tasks in ultra-low temperature environments, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to strict safety protocols.
