Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, CT, seeks a supervisor for its clinical laboratory. The role provides operational and technical oversight, reports to the Manager of Laboratory Service, and collaborates with medical leadership to implement test procedures and policies.

The position involves budgeting responsibilities and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure regulatory compliance and service goals are met across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or significant experience in area of oversight.
• Three (3) years previous technical experience in a clinical laboratory or equivalent.
• Certification in area of oversight; Capable of providing an outstanding customer service experience for patients and staff.
• ASCP (MT, MLS) Preferred
• Capable of providing an outstanding customer service experience for patients and staff.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g. email, Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT)
• May be required to learn and/or be proficient in multiple department-specific functions, systems, and/or processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments/department leaders/Administration
• Ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities; ability to prioritize daily work.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory oversight for a department of the clinical laboratory.
• Work with Manager of Laboratory Service and Medical Director to formulate procedures and budgets.
• Monitor regulatory compliance (TJC, CAP, CLIA, etc.).
• Assist in planning and execution of department projects and service goals.
