Job summary

Clora's client is seeking a Laboratory Sample Manager to lead all sample management within Analytical Services, supervising two technicians. This player-coach role requires deep expertise in GMP, SOP design, and cross-functional collaboration with QA/QC and analytical teams.

You will own strategy and governance of sample management, covering receipt, storage, shipping, CoA management, and third-party coordination. Conversion to full-time may follow performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• 8–10 years of progressive laboratory sample experience.
• 3 years in a supervisory or management role with direct reports preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated GMP-regulated laboratory sample management experience is required.
• Hands-on experience across sample management/logistics.
• Vendor and contract management experience.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and develop all Laboratory sample technicians; set expectations and conduct performance reviews.
• Build development plans for each technician aligned with Sample Operations and career trajectory.
• Prioritize workload and ensure no tasks are missed; escalate issues as needed.
• Oversee design and improvement of all sample management SOPs, storage standards, and COA/reference standards.
• Manage third-party lab coordination, shipment operations, and stability trends sheets.
• Collaborate with QA, QC, and analytical teams to ensure GMP compliance and quality systems.
• Lead continuous improvement and adoption of new systems or tools.
