Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or Associates with 4 years work experience, or High School diploma with 6 years work experience)
• Valid driver's license with zero or positive points balance and at least 2 years driving experience
• Knowledge of environmental health and safety practices, including OSHA, EPA, and ANSI standards
• Understanding of safe laboratory practices, hazardous materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and work independently and as part of a team

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety at the University of Virginia seeks a Laboratory Safety Consultant to support safe and compliant research, education, and support services across the UVA community.
