Job summary

UL Solutions in Lowell, AR seeks a Laboratory Safety Specialist to establish and maintain hazardous materials management, EHS programs, and transportation safety compliance. You will report on regulatory requirements, audit activities, and incident investigations to ensure safe laboratory operations in alignment with company policies.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 4+ years of related experience; professional certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent laboratory experience in a related technical field.
• 4+ years of directly related experience in hazardous materials compliance, laboratory operations, environmental compliance, safety, or hazardous waste management.
• Professional certifications such as CIH, CSP, PE, or equivalent are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert in laboratory safety and regulatory compliance, hazardous materials management, environmental regulations, and transportation safety requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory safety, environmental, and EHS programs in line with regulations and company requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and communicate changes that impact laboratory activities.
• Own and manage the full hazardous materials inventory lifecycle, including requisitioning, receipt, labeling, and disposition.
• Coordinate hazardous waste disposal activities, waste segregation, labeling, and waste manifest review/authorization.
