Northeastern University is seeking a Building Safety Manager to serve as the embedded EH&S safety professional for research laboratories in the Boston campus. You will advise PIs and lab staff on safe practices, perform regular inspections, and coordinate with ECOS and Facilities on hazardous materials and waste management.

The role requires strong communication, risk translation, and the ability to foster a collaborative safety culture across departments.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a physical science, life science, environmental science, engineering, occupational safety, or other applicable area.
• Minimum of five years demonstrated work experience in meeting EHS requirements in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with OSHA, RCRA, Massachusetts DEP, NFPA, and related standards is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Laboratory Safety Support and Inspections: advise PIs, lab managers and staff; conduct inspections and walkthroughs; develop corrective action plans; support with PPE use and risk assessments.
• Hazardous Material and Waste Coordination: ensure MAQ thresholds; coordinate with ECOS on hazardous waste handoffs.
• Building-Wide Emergency Planning and Response: develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans; participate in on-call response and investigations.
• Program Development, Support, and Continuity: contribute to OARS projects; document assignments; pursue professional development.
