Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a Laboratory Research Technician to support lab operations and assist the PI with a range of experiments, including molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, electrophysiology and electrochemistry. Monday – Friday with occasional weekend work required. Up to 40 hours/ week.

Position Summary

The Research Technician will assist with lab management operations and assist the Principal Investigator and members of the laboratory with experiments involving molecular biology, behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, electrochemistry and immunohistochemistry.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Management Preferences

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Additional software knowledge highly preferred (examples but not limited to GraphPad Prism, Deep Lab Cut)
  • Coding experience (examples but not limited to: MatLab, Python)
  • Prior experience with rodent models
