Job summary

Rutgers University is seeking a Student Assistant for the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology department at RWJ Medical School. Under the PI, you will perform molecular biology experiments, cell culture, imaging, and biochemical assays, while reviewing literature and analyzing data.

The position is part-time, on-site in Piscataway, NJ, with a schedule of 15–20 hours per week and a focus on training and lab support for ongoing studies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at Rutgers University.
• Experience with molecular biology or cell culture, microscopy, data recording and analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs molecular biology experiments, including genotyping, molecular cloning, and plasmid design.
• Conducts cell culture, transfection, and live cell imaging activities.
• Assists with biochemical assays such as co-immunoprecipitation and Western blotting.
• Analyzes data and troubleshoots experiments as necessary.
• Reviews and summarizes literature on research-related topics.
