Job summary

Rutgers University, within the Rutgers Cancer Institute, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant in Radiation Oncology to assist lab staff with cancer research projects. You will contribute to experimental design, data collection, and preparation of submission materials under supervision of senior lab members and the PI.

The role emphasizes learning laboratory techniques, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting grant and publication processes in a fully on-site setting at the NJ campus.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to follow laboratory safety policies and perform simple laboratory procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to learn laboratory databases for data entry and reporting tasks.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively; strong written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine tasks related to cellular and mouse experiments and projects focusing on p53 pathway and cancer research.
• Prepare summaries of research processes, data, and project findings; contribute to grant and manuscript preparation.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and systems to support ongoing projects.
