May supervise Prep Tech I staff and contribute to training. Requires GED/HiSET and 1+ year lab experience; strong computer skills and attention to detail are essential.

Formación

• Minimum 1 year experience in a laboratory environment.
• Strong computer skills and ability to manage data accurately.
• Ability to grasp and retain complex information and pay close attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Verifies identity, source and appropriateness of specimens and orders.
• Enters orders into Laboratory Information System accurately.
• Labels specimens with patient and test information.
• Prioritizes testing according to specimen requirements and allocations.
• Performs basic staining techniques and prepares reagents.
• Works with PPE and follows hazardous materials guidelines.
• Maintains and trouble-shoots lab equipment as needed.
• Communicates issues impacting quality, turnaround or safety.
• Keeps accurate records and quality control data.
• Follows all policies and standards of behavior.
