Job summary

AmSpec Services in Louisiana seeks a Lab Supervisor to assist with operations and supervise lab personnel, ensuring accurate testing data and instrument status in coordination with the Lab Manager. The position is based in a laboratory setting with potential office time and exposure to typical lab hazards.

You will coordinate and schedule lab assignments, receive and verify data, analyze QC results, provide training to analysts, and help prepare corrective actions for QA/QC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum or lab science field.
• 3–5 years in petroleum industry lab operations or 5+ years with an associate degree.
• Managerial experience and good interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule lab assignments to technicians and supervisors; oversee all analytical testing work.
• Receive, compile, and verify data from lab testing; maintain accurate records for samples.
• Analyze QC results to ensure efficiency of processes and equipment.
• Provide training to laboratory analysts and liaise with Lab Manager and Operations.
• Assist with corrective and preventive actions for QA/QC; document non-conformances.
• Perform other lab duties as required by supervisor.
