AmSpec Group in Pasadena, Texas is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to oversee laboratory quality control procedures and documentation. This role involves implementing QA/QC methods, maintaining records, and training laboratory analysts.
Candidates should possess a High School Diploma and effective communication skills. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 45lbs and pass necessary health tests.
Responsible for preparing documentation related to laboratory quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) and ISO certification activities. They will also be responsible for implementing quality control procedures, as well as preparing and safeguarding related records.
Work is primarily performed in a laboratory with occasional trips to collect or deliver samples. The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. AmSpec Services provides product information, training, engineering controls, and personal protective equipment in an effort to protect employees from exposure to potentially harmful levels of those materials. Employees are required to read product information, use available engineering controls, follow guidelines presented during training, and be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment, including respiratory protective equipment, as may be required by the work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Safety Sensitive position that requires pre‑employment, random and annual drug and alcohol testing (including marijuana testing). Must pass a drug and alcohol test specified by AmSpec. Must pass an annual Pulmonary Fitness and Respirator Fit Test. Must pass a physical examination by a physician designated by AmSpec Services, both before employment and at any time during employment upon request of AmSpec Services to confirm the Surveyor’s ability to perform the essential job functions of the position. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry boxes weighing up to 45lbs. Ability to work in the presence of odors, typical of petroleum or petrochemicals, without allergic reactions or nausea when such odors are within OSHA‑designated permissible exposure limits (PELs).
