Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Milton Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to manage moderate/high complexity testing in Milton, MA. You will oversee quality control, equipment maintenance, and staff competency while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.

Collaborate with the Laboratory Director and Nurse Educator to ensure CAP, JCAHO, and other inspections readiness and continuous quality improvement across departments.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in health-related field, chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2–5 years of hospital-based clinical laboratory experience; management experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; able to train staff and document procedures.
• Knowledge of CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and quality improvement practices; proficiency with LIS/eCW and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily operations of assigned laboratory sections to run smoothly and efficiently.
• Oversee quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and processes.
• Coordinate staff training, competency, and in-service education activities.
• Prepare and maintain procedures compliant with CAP, TJC, OSHA, and federal/state regulations.
• Lead regulatory readiness and proficiency testing participation.
• Interface with internal/external stakeholders to ensure patient safety and service quality.
