Job summary

Ecobat is seeking a Quality Systems Manager to supervise laboratory personnel and ensure ISO 9001 compliance across processes. You will train staff, develop SOPs, and coordinate refinery production schedules.

Responsibilities include auditing lab equipment (ICP, GC, XRF, Arc/Spark), maintaining instrumentation, and serving as ISO management representative. Familiarity with SAP and lab reporting is essential.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Good oral and written communication skills (English).
  • 2 years college with Science, Math and related courses.
  • 2-5 years managerial experience.
  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 45001 awareness preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates laboratory personnel activities.
  • Manage, train, develop and mentor the laboratory staff.
  • Responsible for the Plant’s Quality System.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory SOPs and SWIs.
  • Coordinate refinery production and scheduling.
  • Audit and maintain critical lab equipment.
  • Manage analysis using ICP, GC, Carbon/Sulfur, XRF and Arc/Spark Spectrometers.
  • Maintain and calibrate analytical instrumentation.
  • Implement and monitor ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
  • Represent the Company as ISO 9001:2015 Management Representative.
  • Chemical analysis of process samples and related duties.
  • Develop laboratory reports and data forms.
  • Manage SAP receipts and product specifications.
  • Budget planning and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in analyzing in-process and finished product samples to ensure compliance with quality control procedures. Coordinates activities related to the implementation of ISO 9001 procedures and serves as management representative.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage, train, develop and mentor the laboratory staff.
  • Responsible for the Plant’s Quality System.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Working Instructions.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Communicates with Corporate Sales to prepare the refinery casting schedule.
  • Coordinates the refinery production.
  • Evaluate, audit and provide servicing of critical lab test equipment.
  • Responsible for analysis using ICP, GC, Carbon and Sulfur Analyzer, XRF and Arc/Spark Spectrometers.
  • Responsible to maintain and calibrate all analytical instrumentation.
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring the quality management system (ISO 9001:2015)
  • Represents the Company as the ISO 9001: 2015 Standard Management Representative.
  • Responsible for the chemical analysis of various process samples, TCLP, Lead, wastewater, slag, dross, etc.
  • Develop all laboratory standardized forms for reports and analytical data.
  • Responsible for maintaining site SAP receipts and product specification.
  • Manager Process Order Information and Technically Complete (TECO) for site in SAP.
  • Responsible for budget planning and budget reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • 4-year degree in Chemistry or equivalent or equivalent experience

IV. Physical Requirements & Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions; and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
