Job summary

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead our laboratory team across multiple clinic locations. This role oversees phlebotomists, lab assistants and Medical Laboratory Technologists, coordinating staffing, workflow, and daily operations to ensure timely and accurate laboratory services.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, knowledge of quality systems, and a commitment to staff development within a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
• MLS/MT certification (ASCP or equivalent) is required or preferred.
• Four years of laboratory experience with supervisory or leadership exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise laboratory staff across multiple locations.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and daily workflow to ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee onboarding, training, coaching, and performance development.
• Monitor productivity, turnaround times, and service levels to support patient care.
• Maintain regulatory readiness and enforce quality initiatives.
