Elemental Enzymes is seeking a full-time Laboratory Assistant to support site Operations in St. Louis, MO. The role covers lab prep, safety, and inventory while ensuring readiness of equipment and spaces for daily activities.

The position requires a high school diploma with preference for STEM degrees and hands-on lab experience. The job emphasizes adherence to procedures, accurate record-keeping, and independent collaboration with scientists and Operations staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Experience with media/reagent preparation and aseptic techniques preferred.
• Familiarity with lab equipment, inventory management, chemical handling, and safety practices preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work independently after training and collaborate with scientists.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reagents, growth media, and media plates with aseptic technique.
• Fulfill lab requests accurately and promptly based on priorities.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance, calibration, and validation as trained.
• Operate autoclave to sterilize labware and materials.
• Wash and organize glassware and reusable materials.
• Follow SOPs, lab protocols, and documentation standards.
• Maintain safe work environment and lab spaces.
• Utilize ELN and basic lab systems as required.
• Support routine lab activities based on research and operations needs.
• Monitor inventory and replenish consumables as needed.
• Receive, inspect, and distribute incoming materials; stage and store supplies.
