Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in chemical, physical or biologic science, medical technology or clinical laboratory science
• 3–5 years of progressive responsibility in a lab setting
• Demonstrated leadership, technical proficiency, and knowledge to coordinate lab quality and workload
• Certification at technologist level (ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS or HEW) preferred
• Working knowledge of statistics and Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily laboratory operations including scheduling and work assignments across large/complex lab sections
• Oversee specimen processing, testing, and reporting to meet service standards
• Compile and maintain employee records (attendance, work assignments, performance, proficiency, competency) for accrediting agencies
• Coordinate preventive maintenance records and validate new methods/instruments/software
• On-board new staff and coordinate education/training for Residents, Fellows, and students
• Comply with policies, quality improvement programs, safety, and regulatory requirements
