Job summary

Mountain View Regional is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee administrative, fiscal, and technical operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care. The role includes planning, organizing, and evaluating laboratory functions while managing personnel and budgets to optimize resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in a closely related field.
• 2–4 years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and evaluates the work of the clinical laboratory, coordinating with hospital departments to support quality patient care.
• Hires, trains, evaluates, and develops laboratory staff with ongoing competency assessments.
• Ensures compliance with CAP, CLIA, JCAHO and related standards; maintains documentation and readiness for inspections.
• Reviews and updates department policies, procedures, and job descriptions for regulatory alignment.
• Manages the department budget and resources to meet financial targets.
• Collaborates with other departments to resolve issues affecting patient care and organizational goals.
• Delegates tasks while maintaining accountability for operations and outcomes.
• Engages in quality assurance and safety initiatives to uphold high standards.
• Utilizes hospital and department software to streamline processes.
