Job summary

Adena Health System in Chillicothe, OH is seeking a Lab Manager to lead daily operations in the Laboratory Services. The manager will oversee staff development, quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards while maintaining efficient department operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in a clinical laboratory-related field.
• Five years of clinical laboratory experience with two years in a supervisory role.
• MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
• De-escalation training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Supports patient experience objectives for the department and provides leadership and direction for departmental quality/service improvement initiatives.
• Develops staff through effective orientation, coaching, counseling, and performance management.
• FTE and budget management – coordinates the allocation of human and other resources in the department.
• Communicates proactively, effectively and professionally through networking with Adena Health and the community.
• Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with department policies and procedures in compliance with Adena Health policies and procedures and regulatory standards.
• Coordinates and manages daily operations of the department to maximize efficiency and maintain operations within approved budget.
• Identifies staff educational needs and implements development plans to facilitate competency of staff.
• Demonstrates high standards in standards of behavior/customer service through all interactions with patients/families, peers, direct reports, physicians, and community

What You’ll Do

Position Summary

The Manager, Laboratory Services is responsible for daily operations, problem resolution, quality improvement, coordination of section and site functions, allocation of resources, and staff development. This position ensures compliance with all Adena Health policies and procedures and regulatory standards. The Manager makes decisions independently and in collaboration with others. The position has occasional direct patient contact and access to confidential employee, patient, and financial information.

Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree

Bachelor’s Degree Major/Area of Concentration:

Preferred Education: Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses

De-escalation training within 6 months.

Preferred Certifications, Credentials and Licenses

Certification as a MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.

Required Experience

Five years of experience in a clinical laboratory with two years of experience in a supervisory position required
