The Research Laboratory Manager 2 manages day-to-day laboratory operations and supports research programs focused on cancer immunology and immunotherapy. The position provides administrative, operational, and technical leadership for laboratory activities involving immune profiling, cellular and molecular immunology, translational oncology, and human specimen-based research.
The manager oversees laboratory personnel, ensures compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements, manages financial and laboratory resources, facilitates acquisition and implementation of new technologies, and supports collaborative research efforts across the OSUCCC, PIIO, and College of Medicine.
The OSUCCC - James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation's largest public universities. The Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) is a comprehensive bench-to-bedside research initiative dedicated to advancing transformative cancer immunology and immunotherapy discoveries.
Research supported by this position encompasses basic, translational, and clinical investigation focused on understanding antitumor immune responses, mechanisms of T-cell dysfunction, immune checkpoint biology, melanoma immunology, cancer vaccine development, biomarker discovery, and novel immunotherapeutic approaches designed to improve outcomes for patients with cancer.
