Salary Range: $84,137 - $105,000

DCS is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Laboratory Logistics Analyst to oversee the day-to-day coordination, resource management, and compliance of our technical laboratory.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the lab's master schedule, tracking project resources, managing material procurement, and coordinating inventory and equipment maintenance. Additionally, you will play a critical role in safety compliance, interfacing with regulatory representatives to maintain a safe and fully operational environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering background, outstanding organizational skills, and a proven track record of managing technical projects, contracts, or task orders.

Essential Job Functions:

Create and maintain the Laboratory Master Schedule. Establish accurate cost and schedule estimates for all incoming work.

Analyze existing and future project work in relation to required manpower, equipment, and both direct and indirect materials. Identify potential bottlenecks and propose proactive solutions for laboratory resource management.

Track Cooperative Research Agreement (CRA) resources, including compiling yearly estimates of project units, laboratory usage, and equipment costs. Track status throughout the fiscal year and provide regular updates to the Branch Head and CRA Manager.

Support the Branch in monitoring performance against plans. Analyze significant deviations, provide expert judgment on project compromises, and help formulate actionable corrective plans to support managerial decision-making.

Coordinate and ensure direct and indirect laboratory materials are ordered in a timely manner to maintain uninterrupted laboratory functionality. Anticipate material and equipment needs for upcoming projects and synchronize asset usage to minimize throughput issues.

Track the fulfillment of orders by vendors and ensure successful delivery of products or services. Interface with NAVFAC when necessary for installation coordination.

Maintain an updated inventory of all perishable goods and consumables. Track material usage rates, expiration/recertification dates, and lead times. Provide timely recommendations for replenishment and safe disposal of expired materials. Partner with the Asset Management Department to conduct annual inventories of tracked equipment.

Track preventative maintenance and calibration schedules for major laboratory equipment, adjusting timelines to minimize impact on the Master Schedule. Document and track unplanned equipment downtime and analyze its budget and schedule impacts.

Coordinate with NAWC/NAWS Industrial Hygiene, Kern County Air, OSHA, and HazMat representatives to ensure full facility compliance. Document and track all safety visits and coordinate corrective actions. Maintain and organize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all laboratory chemicals.

Required Skills:

U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer requirements.

Masters with a minimum of 10 plus years will also consider a Bachelors with 12 plus years.

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.

Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience managing multiple technical projects, contracts, or task orders.

Strong ability to perform technical, business case, and management analyses.

Outstanding communication skills with experience drafting technical administrative reports and visual aids (briefings, diagrams, schematics). Proficiency in schedule and database tracking software.
