Job summary

Calibrations & Controls is seeking an Instrumentation & Calibration Technician to join our Minnesota shop-based laboratory. You will perform calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of process instrumentation with minimal travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Approximately 3 years of professional calibration/instrumentation experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Experience using electrical or electronic test equipment.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and manufacturer documentation.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with computers and electronic documentation.
• Ability to work independently after training.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration and verification of industrial instrumentation using established procedures and traceable reference standards.
• Perform as-found and as-left testing and make adjustments when appropriate.
• Calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and service equipment including gas detectors, pressure gauges, temperature instruments, pH meters, flow meters, and 4–20 mA instrumentation.
• Diagnose instrument failures and determine repair or replacement needs.
• Document calibration results and maintain records.
• Inspect incoming customer equipment for damage or issues.
• Communicate findings and repair recommendations to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized calibration workspace and adherence to safety procedures.
