Job summary

ATR International is seeking a hands-on Calibration Technician in Connecticut to test, calibrate, maintain, and repair measuring and test equipment. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude and experience in maintenance or calibration, with a willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and technical tasks.

You will work with a range of instruments, document results, and support production and quality teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical, maintenance, mechanical, or calibration experience.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience performing equipment maintenance, repair, testing, or troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to calibration processes or measurement equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, diagrams, blueprints, drawings, written instructions, and technical procedures.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and working with mechanical or electronic equipment.
  • Ability to interpret test data and document results accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Ability to work independently under moderate supervision while following established procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate electronic test, measuring, and signal-generating equipment according to established standards.
  • Test, adjust, maintain, and repair mechanical, electromechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydraulic-mechanical, and pressure-measuring instruments.
  • Set up calibration sequences, methods, and procedures using specifications, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical requirements.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and replace defective components in test and measurement equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical components, equipment, and systems.
  • Perform routine and intermediate technical testing, interpret results, and prepare reports.
  • Maintain accurate calibration, maintenance, testing, and repair records.
  • Collect, format, compile, and analyze technical data using established formulas and procedures.
  • Perform detailed mathematical calculations related to testing and calibration.
  • Monitor and verify quality using statistical process controls or other established quality procedures.
  • Identify equipment concerns, technical problems, and potential process improvements.
  • Support production, operations, maintenance, testing, safety, process improvement, and product development activities.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level technicians when needed.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Calibration Technician to test, calibrate, maintain, and repair a variety of measuring and test equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, previous maintenance or calibration experience, and a willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and technical tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certification related to calibration, maintenance, electronics, or instrumentation.
  • Experience with pressure gauges, tension meters, signal generators, measuring instruments, or similar test equipment.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, statistical process control, or regulated manufacturing environments.

The successful candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with their hands, and unafraid to learn unfamiliar equipment or procedures. They can follow detailed technical instructions, make sound decisions during routine troubleshooting, and communicate technical findings clearly to internal team members.
