Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Glass Washer to maintain lab glassware, autoclave dry ware and biohazard waste in a high‑volume setting. You will wash, dry, and organize lab glassware, pipettes and plastics, ensuring readiness for use across multiple labs.

Requires a high school diploma and 1 year of glass washing experience; hazardous material safety awareness and manual dexterity are essential. This is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Saint Louis, MO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Glass washing experience a plus (1 year).
• Hazardous material safety awareness required.
• Manual dexterity required for delicate lab glassware handling.

Responsibilities

• Collects glassware from labs.
• Loads into washer, washes, dries and wraps with saran wrap.
• Washes and dries by hand all plasticware.
• Separates items to autoclave dry ware.
• Returns to labs and places on shelves.
• Washes, dries, and autoclaves pipettes from each lab.
• Maintains stock for labs.
• Autoclaves liquids and biohazard waste.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
