Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist in Richmond, VA to support customers' laboratories as the primary onsite EHS liaison. You will promote hazard reporting, enforce stop-work authority when risks are present and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and customer requirements.

You will conduct risk assessments, manage waste programs, support biosafety and PPE decisions, and deliver training to staff across multiple sites while coordinating with operations leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of EHS experience in a laboratory or regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements applicable to laboratories.
• Able to work onsite in customer laboratories and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite EHS representative, coach employees and promote hazard reporting with stop-work authority when needed.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, state, PerkinElmer and customer compliance; maintain documentation, audits and corrective actions.
• Oversee hazardous waste compliance, inspections, labeling and disposal; partner with IH for monitoring review.
• Investigate injuries and incidents; perform root cause analyses and track corrective actions.
• Coordinate EHS orientation and training, join safety meetings and support safe transitions.
