Job summary

K-State Olathe is seeking a LEAPS Director to lead the advanced analytical laboratory, develop client-focused testing and research solutions, and support education and workforce development. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and strategic growth within a hybrid work model.

The position requires leading cross-functional teams, building partnerships with industry and academia, and delivering technical education and training. 90 days on-site then hybrid eligibility discussed with supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience required.
• Advanced degrees may count toward required experience per hiring manager.
• Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day LEAPS facility operations and ensure safety, quality, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with clients on fee-for-service testing, method development, and applied research.
• Develop laboratory capabilities and education/workforce development initiatives.
• Mentor staff and contribute to strategic growth at K-State Olathe.
