Job summary

Lincoln Land Community College seeks a Laboratory Coordinator to support faculty and provide hands-on learning across main campus and outreach centers.

You will prepare instructional materials, lab supplies, and provide technology support to ensure faculty have what they need and students have resources to learn, explore, and succeed. The role includes safety, inventory, and outreach responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field (required).
  • Experience working in a laboratory with equipment and preparing solutions.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of standard lab practices.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and coordinates materials for biology and/or chemistry labs including chemical solutions, stains, reagents, equipment and any other essential supplies.
  • Set up labs, monitor and replenish supplies daily, tidy labs between classes and tear down and clean up lab exercises at the end of each day.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of biology laboratories and preparation spaces on main campus and outreach centers.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies for labs at main campus and outreach centers and submit requests for orders to the Chemical Hygiene Officer & Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Perform regular visits to the outreach centers to deliver supplies and equipment, assist in preparation for the labs, and dispose of biohazardous and chemical waste.
  • Assists in maintenance of living displays including greenhouse and aquaria, under the direction of the Chemical Hygiene Officer & Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Assist the Chemical Hygiene Officer & Laboratory Supervisor with chemical inventory as it pertains to the Department of Natural & Agricultural Sciences and respective classes at outreach centers.
  • Maintains safety standards established by the college, department leadership, faculty and/or Chemical Hygiene Officer & Laboratory Supervisor in laboratories and preparatory spaces.
  • Assists in the training and supervision of student workers in lab prep functions and safety as well as animal and plant care.
  • Assists with department recruiting and outreach events, including open houses, campus visit days, and high school visits among others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the college planning and assessment program by developing annual work unit objectives that impact long-range priority goals.

Equip the lab. Empower learning at LLCC !Lincoln Land Community College is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to support faculty and create the foundation for successful, hands‑on learning across our main campus and outreach centers.

From preparing instructional materials and laboratory supplies to providing technology support and maintaining the spaces and equipment students rely on, this role helps ensure faculty have what they need and students have the resources to learn, explore, and succeed.
As a staff member at LLCC , you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid‑semester break; 12 Fridays off in the summer; and 5 personal days, 12 sick days, and starting with 10 vacation days per year. LLCC staff, their spouse and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses. Staff can also enjoy free access to our on‑campus fitness center.
