Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Laboratory Chemist to join a growing bioanalytical laboratory team in Madison, WI. This contract-to-hire role targets Bachelor-level graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in a regulated setting, focusing on sample preparation, testing, and instrumentation support.

Responsibilities include preparing samples, performing tests, and handling GLP procedures while learning HPLC and LC-MS with a collaborative team. Onsite position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related Life Science field.
• Laboratory experience gained through coursework, research projects, internships, or part-time employment.
• Experience with basic laboratory techniques, including pipetting and solution preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process biological samples, including blood, urine, and plasma.
• Perform laboratory testing following established procedures and protocols.
• Utilize common laboratory equipment such as pipettes, balances, and pH meters.
• Assist with sample preparation and extraction techniques.
• Operate automated laboratory and liquid-handling equipment.
• Record and review data using electronic laboratory systems.
• Follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines and laboratory safety procedures.
• Learn and support analytical instrumentation, including HPLC and LC-MS, through on-the-job training.
