Fairview Range is hiring a Laboratory Care Technician for our Laboratory Department in Hibbing, MN.
As a Laboratory Care Technician (LCT), you will work with a diverse population within our healthcare environment and play an important role in providing quality, proficient and professional services in keeping with Fairview Values as you interact with patients, families, and coworkers. The LCT performs laboratory specimen collection, safe specimen handling and point‑of‑care testing when appropriate. Responsible for accurately entering orders and collection information into the Laboratory Information System and associated subsystems, monitoring computer logs for inaccuracies, scheduling tests/procedures and providing results in the LIS/HIS and over the phone. The LCT’s attention to detail and accuracy lay the foundation for delivering excellent laboratory services. Working as both an individual and a team member, the LCT continuously seeks to improve quality and support the department and team in achieving Fairview’s goals.
This position will work 72 to 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8 hours on the day/evening shift. Weekends: every other weekend.
The hospital lab at Fairview Range provides 24/7 support for Fairview Range Medical Center and the Fairview Mesaba Clinics. It is CAP accredited and includes a fully functional microbiology lab with molecular testing, and on‑site pathology support. Collaboration with M Health Fairview laboratory systems provides patients with local access to an extensive array of lab services.

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in the union agreement for the respective job classification at the time of job posting. An individual’s pay rate within this range may be influenced by factors such as FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If a sign‑on bonus is available, it will be honored in accordance with the program approved at the time of offer.
