Job summary

Southcoast Health in Dartmouth, MA is seeking a Laboratory Call Center Specialist to join the Outreach Lab team. The role supports laboratory specimen procurement, test ordering, result delivery and billing across primary and secondary market areas.

The position requires a high school diploma, basic medical terminology knowledge, and at least one year of related work experience. Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 is required or an approved exemption.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school required.
• Some knowledge of medical terminology or additional courses or training required.
• A minimum of one year related work experience is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement by signing a statement of exemption after hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve problems related to laboratory specimen procurement, test ordering, result delivery and billing.
• Provide support for all areas of the Laboratory, including all hospital sites pathology, SPG offices and all Outreach Patient Service Centers as well as the mobile outreach team.
• Careful documentation and follow up of all patient and client related activity, investigation and resolution of work queue exceptions.
• Assist and provide coverage for the appointment desk Call Center representatives and supply maintenance.
