Job summary

The Rockefeller University’s Comparative Bioscience Center is seeking a Cage Wash Attendant to support in vivo research by ensuring cage sanitation and safe operation of sanitation equipment on the New York campus.

Under the supervision of the Operations Lead, the role involves maintaining the cage wash area, moving equipment, restocking supplies, and performing related duties as assigned. A HS Diploma/GED and good communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be able to push or pull weight bearing wheeled carts weighing approximately 500 lbs and lift about 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery including laundry, autoclaves, equipment washers, and hoists; move equipment in the facility and maintain clean cage wash conditions.
• Maintain clean hallways by removing dirty equipment to the cage-wash area and ensure autoclave supplies.
• Assist with waste collection, mopping floors, changing light bulbs, restocking supplies, and fulfilling requests.
• Other duties as assigned.
