Job summary

CHI St. Anthony Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support patient diagnostics with meticulous, customer-focused care at the Pendleton, Oregon campus.

The role centers on specimen processing, intake, and ensuring rapid, accurate handling of samples to support timely patient care. Responsibilities include processing and packaging for send-out testing, performing venous and capillary punctures, conducting CLIA-waived and moderately complex tests, and maintaining inventory and records.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• AHA BLS within 90 days or within the required timeframe.
• Preferred: Lab Assistant/Phlebotomy certification.
• Preferred: six months acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Process, organize, and quickly move samples for testing; handle lab send-out testing and packaging.
• Perform venous and capillary punctures on all age groups following collection procedures.
• Perform CLIA-waived and moderately complex testing, evaluating results under direction.
• Perform routine maintenance, monitor inventory, stock supplies, and manage records.
