Job summary

The University of Southern California Verdugo Hills Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant (Non Phlebotomist) to support licensed staff in preanalytical collection, accessioning and sample prep, and to assist post-analytical reporting to our customers. The role includes clerical and laboratory support in a busy hospital laboratory.

The position emphasizes accuracy, data entry and teamwork. Prior hospital lab experience and strong communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or two years college-level courses preferred.
• Prior hospital laboratory experience preferred (specimen processing, data entry, centrifugation, microbiology setups).

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed staff in preanalytical processes: collection, accessioning and sample preparation.
• Assist higher level licensed personnel in standard laboratory tests as needed.
• Provide clerical and laboratory support to the laboratory as a whole.
