Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support lab operations including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and waived testing.

Responsibilities include handling specimens, processing and distributing, reviewing reports, and maintaining phlebotomy supply inventory to ensure timely results. High school diploma required; phlebotomy certification preferred; strong English communication essential.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • License/Certification: Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
