Job summary

HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to join the team. The role involves specimen collection, processing, and patient registration under supervision, with emphasis on accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality service.

The position supports laboratory operations, with responsibilities spanning phlebotomy, documentation, and coordination with referral labs. A vocational/technical degree and 1–3 years in a clinical lab are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with specimen collection and processing in a clinical lab setting.
• Ability to follow procedures for patient identification and test orders.
• Knowledge of lab documentation and OSR processes.
• Familiarity with lab information systems and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and prepare for testing according to procedures.
• Perform registration and order entry accurately and timely.
• Label and centrifuge specimens as required by tests.
