Job summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist for PRN coverage. You will collect and process specimens, perform venipuncture and other collection procedures, and ensure accurate documentation within the laboratory information system.

The role supports patient care, adheres to safety and privacy policies, and involves coordination with physicians and staff. Prior lab experience and phlebotomy certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, Paramedic or EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and process them following procedures.
• Perform venipuncture or finger sticks on all ages as required.
• Register and document specimens accurately in the LIS and HIS.
• Maintain specimen labeling and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Support clerical duties such as phones and reports.
