Job summary

Orange City Area Health System is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to collect specimens, process them for the lab, and ensure specimen integrity for referral testing. You will input orders into the laboratory information system and care for patients across all ages.

Flexible scheduling includes part-time or full-time 30–37 hours/week with shifts 6:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday, plus Saturday 6:00 am–12:00 pm; opportunity to join a team committed to quality care.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Ideal candidates include certified phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, or LPN.
• Will consider training the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to laboratory policy for hospital and clinic patients.
• Process specimens for the laboratory and place test orders into the LIS.
• Ensure specimen integrity for all referral testing.
• Provide care appropriate to all ages of patients.

Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist

The Laboratory Assistant demonstrates clinical and technical competency in collection of specimens according to laboratory policy for hospital and clinic patients. He/she is responsible for processing specimens for the laboratory and placing test orders into the laboratory information system. He/she is responsible for specimen integrity for all referral testing. The Laboratory Assistant must be able to work with the growth and development needs of all ages of patients.

Job Schedule

Part time or Full time 30-37 hours/week. 3 - 4 days/week; OCAHS laboratory collection area is staffed Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 5:00 pm and shifts vary. Saturday morning is 6am –12pm.
