Description

Under general supervision, the Laboratory Assistant III will perform technical and supervisory duties in the laboratory. You will supervise purchasing, distribution, and maintenance of lab equipment used by all lab personnel. You will also supervise lower level Lab Assistants and students in the laboratory, coordinate the physical preparation of experiments, and supervise the preparation and distribution of buffer media, chemical solutions, and other materials for experiments.

The Laboratory Assistant III will assist in conducting animal experiments in traumatic brain injury. Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Rodent surgical techniques
2. Rodent behavioral testing
3. Immunohistochemistry
4. PCR
5. Tissue preservation, tissue slicing, and processing
6. Microscopy
7. Behavioral analysis

The Laboratory Assistant III must follow all laboratory safety practices.

Salary Range: $25.39 - $30.22/Hourly
