Your Role on the Team
Under general supervision, incumbents perform technical and supervisory duties in a genomics laboratory, including maintaining inventory, purchasing, receiving, storing, and distributing lab supplies, equipment maintenance, and managing samples and scheduling testing using a laboratory information system. They supervise junior staff in inventory management.
Technical tasks at this level include nucleic acid purification, DNA/RNA quality testing, fragmentation, gel electrophoresis, PCR analysis, and preparing samples for sequencing. The incumbent should also be capable of training and supervising undergraduate helpers in these tasks.
