Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Laboratory Assistant 2 to support patient care across locations. Responsibilities include collecting blood and other specimens, processing tests, entering orders in the lab system, and performing rapid testing and basic QA under supervision.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy experience; after introductory period, you’ll be fully capable of performing as a lab assistant. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in phlebotomy is required.
• After three months, employee should be able to perform as a lab assistant.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood, urine, nasal wash, throat and MRSA specimens from patients and perform EKGs.
• Process specimens according to lab procedures.
• Enter orders into the laboratory computer and log results.
• Perform rapid strep testing, urine dipstick, pregnancy testing, IStat and other testing as assigned.
• Provide excellent customer service and comply with policies.
