Job summary

Main Line Health, Bryn Mawr Hospital, is seeking a Lab Assistant II to join the patient-focused laboratory team. The role requires processing and handling specimens across multiple lab areas, with ventipuncture and infant collection experience considered a strong plus.

You will work under the supervision of the laboratory supervisor, contributing to accurate testing and timely communication of results to care teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years laboratory experience required.
• Proficiency in 2 different areas of the lab strongly preferred.
• 1 year experience with infant collections.
• Certification in hazardous materials shipping preferred if MA.

Responsibilities

• Process and handle specimens for testing in multiple clinical and anatomic areas.
• Under supervision, perform venipuncture and micro-collection techniques for various ages.
• Communicate critical information to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with specimen transport and processing.

Position:

Laboratory Assistant II- 40 hours/week

Hours: Day Shift- 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Wardon Lobby area)- one weekend a month (Saturday and Sunday) and one holiday a year. Weekends are 7a-12noon / rotating holiday.

Experience:

• 2+ years laboratory experience required.
• Proficiency in 2 different areas of the lab strongly preferred.
• 1 year experience with infant collections

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent, certification as a medical assistant or related field preferred, moderate knowledge of medical terminology, excellent verbal, written, computer and clerical skills.

Licensures/Certifications:

Maintains certification in the Packaging and Shipping of Hazardous Goods.
