Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL is seeking a Full-time laboratory staff member to join the team on the 2:30 AM – 11:00 AM shift with every 3rd weekend. You may perform cytopreparatory staining, receive cultures, and collect blood specimens.

Responsibilities include processing and transporting specimens, adhering to safety policies, and supporting clinical staff education. Requires phlebotomy skills, basic computer use, and good English communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or training pursued is desirable.
• Strong reading of orders and patient information in English.

Responsibilities

• May perform cytopreparatory staining and accession surgical cases.
• May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes.
• May collect blood specimens (phlebotomy) for all age groups.
• Transport, process and label patient specimens; ensure proper storage.
• Follow safety policies, PPE use, and hazardous material handling.
• Support education for clinical staff and participate in quality-improvement activities.
