Location: Summit Pathology, Loveland, CO

Title: Cytology Processing Lab Assistant

Hourly Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12:30pm to 9:00pm

Summit Pathology is looking to add an enthusiastic team player to our fast-paced, growing pathology company as an evening shift Cytology Processing Lab Assistant.

As a Cytology Processing Lab Assistant, you will assist our Pathologist, Cytotechs, and Molecular Techs in accessioning and preparation duties, including:

• Test ordering with accurate data entry of patient information and requested testing in supported LIS
• Clear communication among team members
• Preparation and processing of cytology non-gynecological and gynecological specimens in accordance with good laboratory practices
• Maintaining cytology lab inventory, supplies, and general upkeep
• Cross training for all cytology lab assistant activities as part of team collaboration
• Interacting with all departments at Summit Pathology to optimize patient care
• Performing other duties as assigned based on company needs

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED. An associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or education/training equivalent to at least 60 semester hours, including 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology or science courses (such as chemistry and biology)
• Ability to exert medium work, lifting 25-50 pounds occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently; involves standing, walking, sitting, and hand use
• Work performed within the laboratory near chemicals, electrical instruments, and equipment

Additional Considerations:

• Bachelor of Science degree with a human anatomy course from an accredited institution is preferred
