POSITION SUMMARY: Performs routine and specialized assignments in a clinical laboratory, demonstrating proficiency in laboratory procedures.

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent; Phlebotomy certification preferred.
2. One year of experience as a laboratory assistant; phlebotomy skills required.
3. CPR Certification.

Skills & Abilities:

• Effective communication with patients, staff, and the public.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Organizational skills.
• Proficiency in operating computers and laboratory information systems.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Essential Functions:

• Perform equipment maintenance and temperature checks.
• Accession samples and perform low to medium complexity tests.
• Prepare buffers and reagents.
• Prepare samples for send-out to reference laboratories.
• Assist Medical Technologists in operating laboratory equipment across various testing areas.
• Maintain laboratory logs as per policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
