Job Description

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, process and document receipt of samples to be analyzed in the various laboratories. Demonstrate knowledge of the organization’s Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.

Responsibilities:

• Processing of specimen from pre to post analytical phase.
• Review labels for accuracy of patient information
• Identifies discrepancies between laboratory information system and specimen labels
• Prepares specimens to be stored after testing is performed
• Unloaded samples using automated system
• Manually scans samples into storage rack for tracking.
• Assist with inventory management
• Efficiency in adapting to changes in order to facilitate adequate staffing and effective demonstration in identifying and actin on priorities in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates alertness and adaptability to changes in schedule and work conditions; responds appropriately
• Participates in in-services
• Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures in assigned area
• Attends all in-service sessions required.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Graduation from a Senior High School or High School Equivalency Diploma and one year of experience in a laboratory environment performing related work as described in position; or,
2. Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
