Job Title: Laboratory Assistant - Fragrance

Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

Contract Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension)

Pay Rate: $28/hour

Shift: Standard business hours

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Laboratory Assistant to support our fragrance application team. This role involves sample preparation, testing, and lab organization, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and teamwork. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on lab experience, scientific knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver complex application samples using the CLASS sampling system.
• Independently operate standard lab equipment and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GLP.
• Test samples for performance and stability, meeting strict delivery timelines.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to samples, testing processes, and solutions.
• Maintain a clean and organized workbench following best laboratory practices.
• Manage raw material inventory: ensure freshness, remove expired materials, and maintain the perfumer’s fragrance oil library.
• Support colleagues during high workloads with a strong team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a scientific discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical laboratory experience.
• Preferred background in perfumery or FMCG industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
