Laboratory Assistant - Onsite, Lenexa, KS - Contract Position

Overview:

The Laboratory Assistant aids the technical staff with the handling, storing, and accounting for biological lab specimens, quality control, and any other relevant tasks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring samples/Troubleshooting discrepancies.
  2. Consolidating created samples/containers (i.e. slides, blocks, reports, etc.)
  3. Searching and retrieving documents and samples.
  4. Performing data entry/Monitoring e-mails and various correspondences.
  5. Checking that slides/blocks are properly barcoded and labeled.
  6. Assisting the pathologists with technical/clerical work.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  1. A bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  2. Basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office along with excellent written/verbal communication skills, the ability to handle large workload demands, and troubleshoot issues timely when required.
  3. Appropriate time management skills and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to keep accurate, legible records and recognize the need to handle these records and all other information in line with GCP/GLP/GDP.
