Qualifikationen

• Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire.
• 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant or Laboratory Assistant performing phlebotomy and CLIA waived testing in a clinical setting.
• Preferred: WA State-approved Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Training Program.

• Perform waived CLIA testing (Influenza, RSV, Strep A, urine HCG, MONO, WBC, Hemoglobin, CMP, INR, UA, IFOB).
• Perform quality control on analyzers and document daily worksheets.
• Register, order and obtain patient samples per physician orders.
• Phlebotomy including skin puncture and venipuncture; therapeutic blood collection.

Description

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for clinical laboratory duties to include, but are not limited to:

• Reception and Telephone duties, operating laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems, specimen handling and processing, shipping of Laboratory specimens for at Reference Laboratories.
• Performs Waived CLIA testing (e.g. Influenza, RSV, Group Strep A, urine HCG, MONO, WBC, Hemoglobin, CMP, INR, UA and IFOB).
• Perform and document quality control on analyzers such as the Piccolo, HemoCue and Urocheck.
• Documentation on daily worksheets.
• Registering, ordering and obtaining patient samples per physician orders.
• Phlebotomy - collection of Blood samples.
• Obtaining blood samples by skin puncture and venipuncture.
• Therapeutic blood collection and Bone Marrow.
• Order and distribute supplies.
• Must have the ability to work varying shifts.
