Temple Health – Temple University Health System in Philadelphia seeks a Laboratory Animal Technician to ensure humane care and treatment of research animals in a day shift, full-time role.

You will perform daily checks, document sick animals, administer treatments as ordered, and notify investigators. You will screen rodent colonies for murine pathogens and collect tissue samples during necropsies while providing technical support to research labs.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences preferred.
• 1 year of experience in biological sciences required.
• General experience with FileMaker Pro preferred.

Mansioni

• Ensure humane care and treatment of laboratory animals.
• Perform daily checks and treatments of sick animals as ordered by the attending veterinarian.
• Maintain records of sick animals and notify principal investigators and staff.
• Screen rodent colonies for murine pathogens and collect tissue samples during necropsies.
• Provide technical assistance to research laboratories as needed.
